Taking Aim at the Babies

The most heinous talking point some Republicans try and push in the abortion fight is that Democrats support infanticide. Abortions so late in pregnancy that the baby is born alive then killed. At first what can one say.

If it was born alive does it even qualify as an abortion and belong in this debate at all. Shouldn’t it just be a murder.

But then of course me being me my mind got rolling. And I got researching to see if my thoughts were backed up with some facts.

And it turns out it is the republicans in congress and in state houses that have attempted and sometimes succeeded in infanticide and other murder by denial from afar. Because they have time after time voted and sometimes succeeded in ending coverage for low income individuals/families of medicaid, aca insurance and CHIP. All these programs have reduced mortality rates of mothers to be during pregnancy and childbirth and infants and children. When Republicans vote to end them or reduce access to them they are pretty much saying they don’t care that it will mean women and infants and children will die do to inability to afford access to health care. They also have tried to cut in half WIC. Nutrition for pregnant mothers.

Is it really more important to give e a tax break to a millionaire or a billionaire or multinational businesses who already barely pay any taxes. Who won’t die if they don’t get the tax cut.

They say every life matters. But they vote like they don’t give a damn.

It might just be me…but the Justices ruling on the Trump ballot ruling seemed illogical.

I expected they would rule he could stay on the ballots. But that the majority would go with the “congress needs to make a law to handle any 14th amendment issues dealing with federal elected officials like the president because it would cause chaos if the states did it individually”.

That a law is needed to use the 14th amendment seems odd to me. Did all the amend meets need a law to work? Did congress make laws for freedom of speech and freedom carry guns. I can only think of laws that try and curtail these freedoms. Not enact them.

Secondly it seems they didn’t seem to think at all about this case specifically. It is about Trump trying to stay President for a second term illegally. And his supporters even storming the capital to try and stop the certification of the electoral votes. Which was helped along by members of his own party in congress who tried to delay the count that very day. Who also before that day supported Trumps fight to stay President and even if a few wavered after Jan 6 they were back to claiming a stolen election and supporting Trump full time soon enough. Now Trump has installed a member of his own family as co head of the RNC. So how can the Supreme Court believe that the republicans in congress would ever vote to make a law to in act the 14th amendment against Trump. It is illogical. And at this time they are the majority in the house. It’s like asking the co conspirators of the criminal to decide if the person is guilty. They know he will hold grudges and with his daughter in law at the RNC she holds the money they need too.

And I get tired of people who say let the voters decide. Read about the 14th amendment. It is there to stop the populace from being able to vote for people who have openly tried to undermine our government. That was what was feared would happen after the civil war when the south had a larger population. And the other thing I hear is a fear of what his supporters would do if he isn’t allowed to run. And all I think is what”like storm the capital while shouting hang the veep”. Been there. If he isn’t on the ballot the worst thing that could happen is that a republican wins the presidency.

But maybe I am all wrong about this. I have never studied law. But I think if it isn’t up to the Staes then it should be up to federal courts. maybe. But the last people deciding this should be republican politicians. And second to last, maybe, are some questionably morally compromised Supreme Court justices.

I saw this quote from you this morning I believe it was from an interview with George Stephanopolous.

“I think it’s actually vey unfair to the victims of sexual assault, to say that somehow their lives are being worse by electing Donald Trump for President, when what he’s trying to do, I think, is restore prosperity.”

Well from here I think you are totally wrong. And it has a lot more than just the E jean Carrol cases that make him a problem for survivors of sexual assault. First off prosperity only matters now because Trump stacked the Supreme Court to repeal national access to abortions. So a victim of sexual assault who gets impregnated by her assailant may need to travel out of their home state to access an abortion. And that costs money that some low income people can’t afford. But Trumps prosperity has to reached these people. His has mostly just made the wealthy richer.

Which brings us back to losing access to abortions for victims of all kinds of sexual assault in many states. We have seen states say there can be exceptions until a woman asks for the abortions and are denied. Over and over. Unless their life is in immediate danger.

And I don’t think having a President who was caught on tape bragging about grabbing women by the pussy and getting away with it, wether it was true or just him being a braggart makes any woman feel good but especially not ones who have been assaulted, groped or harassed.

And let’s remember Trump may feel he doesn’t have his first amendment rights any more but he has tried to sue multiple times for defamation.

And P.S Check the economy statistics things are on the rise.

Ok Moral Conservatives Lets NOT BE Blinded by Your Success or Other Things.

I see on the news that people are like the congresswoman who questioned the university presidents is 1 for 2 and the conservatives are happy to be cleaning up the universities and getting white men back in their rightful places. Oh god what ever.

Right now we need to be pointing out yes we need to have higher standards all around. And I don’t mean Christian morals. I mean just lying in general. Doing whatever it takes to get your side the win. Or as Trump probably thinks do anything to avoid being a loser at anything.

And in my last post i stated if what Dr Gay had done would get a student in trouble so it should her. And more so as the president f the university.

Now don’t start the party. Because universities aren’t the top most place that need a moral cleaning. And It seems these conservatives say they wan to go after Presidents. Then I offer up one ex and trying to be future one Donald Trump.

Look at his business fraud trial. Where pretty much openly admits to submitting faulty financial statements to banks and the government for taxes and for insurance coverage. He says they came with a disclaimer but then also claims his celebrity added the unfounded amounts. But no ordinary citizen would get away with those excuses. And he has many failed businesses using his celebrity so its value is quite hit and miss.

And he has yet to provide I court or in a public forum any verifiable proof that the 2020 election was stolen or that he actually won. He has had 4 years numerous court cases and his own social network to make good on the promise of evidence but never has. Nor has any of his fellow co-conspirators. while even today people he even hired to find it come forward to say they couldn’t find it and told him so. And yet he keeps saying that he won. Which if it were so patiently to rile up his base and to raise money I would think this man were truly delusional.

But the problem is he is running to be PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES.

which in my estimation is more important than even president of university. and here is what the constitution says about the Presidents job.

The President is both the head of state and head of government of the United States of America, as well as Commander-in-Chief of the armed forces.

Under Article II of the Constitution, the President is responsible for the execution and enforcement of laws created by Congress. 

The Executive Office of the President (EOP) consists of the immediate staff to the President, along with entities such as the Office of Management and Budget and the Office of the United States Trade Representative.

So, if I follow the university President rule for staying in office or even being one how can Trump meet these requirements morally or legally even. A man who falsifies financial forms to his benefit which is illegal will be at the top of the legal law enforcement chain. That seems much bigger than what Dr Gay did. Then he put together a plot to seat false electors using some false government documents. Again. Morally can he lead law enforcement of the whole country after that? And then he fed his supporters a stream of lies and still does to this day. Which lead a large group of them to storm the capitol to try and physically stop the transfer of the presidency from him. And he sat on his butt for a could couple of hours doing nothing. Can he morally be the commander of the military or head of law enforcement when those police were being beat up in his name

Where are the conservative moralists who are so concerned about our Universities and their Presidents? Why are they not protecting the country from a totally immoral ex-president/ presidential candidate?

I know I get so tired of the republicans for their one sided bs. And I know that there are some on the left who do it too. And I call it out. I was fine with a good sensor of Bill Clinton for lying under oath during his deposition. We must hold people in high positions to high standards.

I am sorry if I’m getting annoying the world has got me down and it does seem bleak. I need to listen to some nice music and do some creative stuff.

What if the Colorado Judge is Correct on the 14th Ammd…

And Trump committed an insurrection but the clause doesn’t not include the President.

Then the remedy should have been an impeachment for Treason, High Crimes and Misdameanors. But his fellow republicans in both houses of the senate mostly voted against the impeachment and a conviction.

But they are subject to the clause. And we know some of these members had direct involvement in this endeavor before hand. And even tried to help the cause in the chamber procedurally. But by not impeaching the President for what a judge has declared and insurrection did they not support the insurrectionist. And even when they continue to support the election lie behind it are they not continuing support for it and the insurrectionist. So if Trump cant be barred from future ballots it would seem that all of those who did house members and senators who did not vote to impeach or convict are subject to it especially if they continued to support his lies afterward.

Hmm. Just a thought.

Dear Mr. Christie Please stop adding to the dumbing down of America.

It is not due to Jill Biden being a college Professor in education. Hello she is actually a great example of getting an education. She is a professor after all.

Now there is enough blame to go around but the teachers union is closer to the bottom of the list.

You need to look at your party the Republicans. The party who have demonized experts and science and public education. Who have pulled funding from all levels of education. Some to end private schools with no accountability. And some for college education and academic studies. Which have left us trailing behind other countries that invested in research in the sciences across the board through universities and other institutions. Hoping that capitalism and business would win the day. But they usually trail after the basic science not lead. Thankfully there is some awakening to this.

And now the Republicans are killing education in the name of right wing fear. Ignoring that the country was founded on religious freedom not tyranny of one group over all others. Even if they are in the majority in some areas.

And yes the teachers union should address teachers who are ineffectual. But look at congress who can’t even impeach a President who sends his followers to storm the Capitol and breach it to stop the next elected President from replacing him. If you don’t set the top from the top what do you expect.

I also have always felt we need to found our public schools differently in a more equitable way. Not where the rich get more funding than the poor due.Why should any teacher need to pay for materials for their classrooms? It should be at least pooled at the state level. We need to promote education to our kids. And not just straight academic because not everyone is going to excel at that and we need people doing every kind of job when they grow up.

So tech schools for high school are great. Truck driving is facing a crisis. But the Republicans and their anti-union has made a lot of these jobs less appealing and feasible.

And every husband should listen to what their spouse says. But to insinuate that each person in a relationship doesn’t have an independent mind is really insulting. get that there are certain religious marriage philosophies that adhere to the man leading ultimately. But it don’t believe that is the Bidens or that they believe the opposite.

maybe it’s time Dems…..

Just a thought about next years Presidential primaries If Biden is running he will run uncontested in the primaries. I know in the bi year elections some dems voted to have the worst Republican run against the democratic candidate. But I propose that at this point they chose the least problematic Republican Presidential candidate and all vote for that one in the Republican Primaries to try and out vote Trump supporters. After all the country is fairly split so it should make it closer than the current 40 point lead Trump has right now. And I rather end up with the least offensive person then say Trump gets convicted and they then select the Florida idiot or the Idiot upstart who just parrots Trump. I rather have a democrat for President at this point but if the dems cold also secure the least offensive Republican as the other option why not?

Just a thought.

Thou Shall Get to Parent but Only if the State Allows It.

I am so tired and frustrated by the GOP and the religious right and their double standard.

On one hand they want to remove books from school and public libraries because some parents deem them objectionable for their kids. So they think it is their rights as parents to have them removed and deny all kids the rights to have access.

And on the other they want to deny medical care to transgender children. Feeling I guess that their parents and medical professional don’t care or know what’s best for them. That the state and of course their god does.

My thought is so some of the books can have some sex in them and if these are at a high school or public library that is appropriate. And if these parents are fearing their kids will have access then they must fear that they have raised them poorly. Or that they are just too lazy to ask them what they are reading and then take it away. Or they know they have raised little liars who will keep what they are reading to them selves. Damn the Ten Commandments. So everyone has to pay for the parenting failure.

And I read inane article why they don’t want kids to reads these kind of books that it will hurt their mental health and development. But I think raising kids to not know about people who are different than who you are often leads to racists, homophobes, and hate filled people. And to not give them a good base of sex education also can lead to problems. I would say that is a mental health and development issue unless they plan on their kids growing up and living on a compound somewhere.

Now I know I may be a bit unpopular here but I think the AMA needs to set across the board guidelines for the treatment of transgender children and the need to be strict and slow. I have read articles about some who have transitioned as teens but then in their twenties transitioned back. So it does happen. And I will say up front I have always belived and its not really a related but when it came to things like plastic surgery teens should be made to wait until 18 unless it was for something like a hair lip or other disfigurement. But I do believe transgender children should get to live as the gender they want to live as. After all it doesn’t actually impinge on any one else life or rights. And if after talking with their parents and doctors they chose to use hormone therapy then it is their right. I have read about it and it can have a cost later in life of osteoporosis. But medical treatment for things can have a cost and it is a personal decision for a family to make not the state. That it is why I suggest conservative slow guidelines. But I know what it is like to suffer from mental health issues in your teens so I would never deny someone a way to elevate them.

I am on the fence a bit when it comes to transgender female athletes and I know that can be unpopular. And it is only at the very top competitive levels. I think there needs to be more studies done to see if and what the advantages are to having gone through puberty as a male on the body structure is and the abilities going forward. It is one thing for a medicare to bad male athlete to transition then be a soso female athlete. But for a good to excellent male athlete to transition to a female? After all it would be like a female athlete was using steroids for years and then just stopped for like a couple. And steroids is illegal for a female athlete to use in pretty much all sports. So I do think it needs to be studied and may be different in different sports. After all we want a fair playing field. Sports are supposed to be about fun. And that is the reason woman mostly don’t compete against men. I think it won’t matter in some sports and in others it may. Oh well. I know. This will make me unpopular.

Bur back to the rights of parents. The GOP politicians really do have some gall. Stop pushing the religous rights agenda on everyone. Yes they have very right to do what they want in their own homers and houses of worship. That is freedom of religion. What you are doing is religion ran rampant roughshod. And you need to get out of other peoples families just because you want to again impose your religious views on them. And agin that is not freedom of religion. It is the opposite. In fact I think the founding fathers of this country would be appalled.

It”s Hard out There for a Whistleblower.

Ok. I generally support whistleblowers. But you have to actually be a whistleblower. And I am having a bit of trouble with the two fbi agents who blew something over Jan 6 and the fbi.

But what I had to write about was when it came out that they both now work for Trump allied places the GOP meter of the committee holding the hearings said well they need to earn a living. And you know the USA is a tiny country were you can either work for the government or a Trump allied business or group and thats all there is. Because we are such a teeny tiny nation. With you know only 300 million people who all work either for the government or Trump and his people.

Ex FBI agents who lean conservative can never find jobs in law enforcement or criminal policy. Because those industries are so dominated by left leaning liberals. And there are no conservative or even middle of the road think tanks in America.

I mean it is hard out there for an ex FBI agent. Unless of course you were let go because you wouldn’t do your job. Which was to investigate people who might have been involved in breaching the capital of the United States in an effort to stop the peaceful transition of the presidency like it has happened throughout US history. People might not want to hire you. And keep Trump in the White House for four more years.

Funny how they could only find employment with Trump supporters. After all as I just wrote the US is notoriously small with very few places to find employment. I wonder how much more they are now making?

And to head off mega I would be saying the same thing if all of a sudden a whistleblower against Trump was found to be working for a Hunter Biden company or group run by Biden campaign chair.

Between Trump and a Hard Place.

I have been thinking about the Trump CNN town-hall and the response to it. I of course skipped it. One it is way too early to start the next presidential election cycle for me. And most presidential election events like this offer little to no new info.

Everyone on MSNBC was aghast that CNN would allow Trump on the air at all. “He’s a convicted rapist who tire to overthrow the government after all”. And there is a point to that.

But he is a legal candidate running for President at this point. And a popular on the Republican side. So he just can’t be totally ignored by the press. I may have my theories as to why he is running. Sopping up donations from his followers. After all he is the poorest billionaire ever. Fear of actually being convicted of a criminal offense. Thinking being a candidate gives him the best ability to use its all a political witch hunt. And if he can hold the cases off and he gets elected then he can say they can’t prosecute while he is in office. And like Biden he is pretty old. And he can try and pardon any federal crimes. Those are just my theories.

Now back to CNN and the Trump 2024 run. What does every press corp that is not fox or more right wing do?

I have thought at least about this downhill and what little I saw of it. Which was very little.

One why did they even agree to a downhill format? That was a huge mistake. Giving Trump an audience will only lead him to give in to his worst tendencies in front of the camera/crowd. And do what I hate in these events make it impossible for the journalist to do their job. Although lately journalist seem to either not want to or struggle to ask follow up questions of politicians. It is their job to get in their and get to the truth and they rarely seem to want to play hard ball. In fact didn’t it just serve up to Trump just what he wanted. To get off his bits and look tough against the left leaning journalist who was trying to pick on him while the crowd supported him. CNN stepped right into the Trump show.

But I also disagree with all the MSNBC people that you can just ignore Trump. He is the leading Republican candidate after all. And half the country is still willing to vote republican. So you have to at least negotiate to have him come on and talk with your reporters and journalists. But I would think at this point CNN would have known better. And done better than this.

And in the clip I saw Trump called the reported Nasty when she questioned something he said. I think the town-hall show have ended there. Trumps name calling should no longer be tolerated. It should never have been tolerated. We should expect better of our presidents. Name calling is not a sign of strength. It is a sign of bullying. And obfuscation. And CNN should not let their employees be bullied by anyone especially on air while doing their job. She may not have been bothered and think it was just part of doing her job but it just played int Trump being Trump. And it’s time to stop just accepting it. Yes you have to cover a candidate. But no he doesn’t get to set the rules. And no you don’t have to sit by and let him insult your reporters.

In fact if he can’t treat your employees with respect you don’t have to host him on your network. You can cover him as a candidate. But it is time to stop playing Trumps game by his rules.
